What file type do you accept for printing artwork?
How can I send you the files?Files can be uploaded and shared through Email, Google Drive, Dropbox any cloud location or can be burned to CD/DVD or copied to USB stick and mailed to us. For large files (if possible) sending them on a CD/DVD or USB is preferred.
What is the appropriate image resolution for printing artwork?DuraPRINTS produces a good quality print at minimum resolution of 150dpi. The artwork file resolution should be between 150 to 300 DPI/PPI. In the print, pixels per inch and dots per inch impact the size of an image on a page. You should make sure when creating your designs final artwork, print dimension for every inch must have minimum of 150 pixels. For example, if you want to print an image of 6” x 6” that measures at least 900 by 900 pixels, since 6 inches x 150pixels = 900. This formula can be used to size any image just multiply the print width and height in inches by 150 pixels. For best print quality the resolution should be 300 DPI.
What are the requirements for digital photographs and scanned images? For a digital photograph or scanned image, you should use your camera or scanner using a high quality setting. This allows you to scale up the image without losing quality. How much you can scale up the image again depends upon the pixels.
Digital photographs-generally a 3 megapixel camera will give very good results on a 10”x10” fabric. A 10 megapixel camera will give very good results on a 24”x24” fabric. For a 40”x40” fabric requires a 40 megapixel professional camera.
Scanned artwork-typically scanners start from 150DPI going up to 2400 DPI for professional ones. Artwork on paper (11”x8.5”) scanned at 300DPI is good for print size approx. 18”x14”. The same sheet size scanned at 600DPI is good for approx. 36”x28” print.
Ofcoarse the quality/result of the image also depends on the weave of the fabric i.e. coarse or fine weave. Satin weave with filament yarns gives the most pictures like result.
